avoiding the age question pretty much answers it.
if you will re read i do not believe i said "I had to feed my family" i believe i said that the exporters have to ensure quality or they will be out of biz and that they wouldnt allow low quality because they had to feed their families.
now this can also be said of cattle farmers.
so go attack them and protest the grocery stores.
: Old enough to know a selfish money hungry person that doesn't care about the health of the Igs,
that is absurd...you no nothing about me.
and if i am so money hungry why would i ever breed green iguanas...even wholesale in the us they only cost $1.25 to $4.00
where would the money be in that??? there isnt any... beardeds would be a much better $$ investment even at their crappy prices.
and with all that you've posted in the last two days....I don't think any honest person could deny that. I am not trying to be insulting, but you plainly do NOT have the best interests in mind. Say it out loud.."The animal is far more important than money"........keep saying that until you understand it!
uhh...ok
And if you think that I have a hostility problem......wel I do when it comes to people and how these animals are mistreated. YOU are in fact a part of the problem.
No...actually as i have stated before it is the demand that YOU have created for these animals
that has created their "cheapness" which is what kills them. I have never had a problem myself keeping igs healthy.
Too many Igs die for no reason.
Too many igs die ..yes you are correct. there is many reasons. the biggest being as i just stated their cheapness. you never hear of pricier herps dying in numbers because of poor husbandry.
Wonder why..... maybe its because they are out of the price range of most morons. thousands of frilled dragons came in a few years ago and they all went to private collectors and breeders... thats why now they are VERY available on breeders lists. they have a good price and it has been somewhat maintained. Now... I have bred frilleds and they are only cool in pics while "frilling" otherwise they are an ugly very boring lizard.
Iguanas are much cooler. but....the high demand has lowered their value both $$ wise and the value that ALOT of first time herp buyers place on their lives. They are like goldfish to them...they buy one for their kid figure if they give it a little food and water it'll be fine.
so is the importer or breeder to blame for that???
that is as rediculous as blaming chevy because you didnt have the common sense to change the oil in your vehicle.
There is absolutely no reason to breed and sell Igs when this is going on.
WRONG... captive breeding them in the us would put pressure on the importer and exporter.
It is hard to compete with quality of captive born and bred animals.
You ARE one of the main parties that contribute to this problem.
sheesh thats a heck of a title to give to someone.
even when i was bringing in loads of igs i was only a small drop in the bucket compared to the biz as a whole.
But as you said........you have to feed your family.
again no i didnt.
I feed my family too. I don't sentence thousands of helpless animals to death.
good for you either do I.
