Back from my Boise Adventure

Walt and I got to the book store a little early so I could buy the book and be ready. James Hatfield came in early too. Walt and I talked with him for about 20 minutes before he started the lecture and book signing. He was very personable, fun to talk with and just a great guy. Said he loved ig peeps, because we were all a little crazy. I gave him the homebrew and he loved it. We got to get our picture taken with him and the bottle of brew. He said that it always surprised him when people gave him things and he kept everything people had given him. He was going to drink the beer and save the bottle w/Leaping Lizards label to add to his memoribilia (sp) shelf that he kept.

I gave him the pages I printed out of the Kingsnake Family Album Main Page & here at the forum. On the family album page I had written Tuesday nites, 8:30pm est. Explained that we would love for him to join us some Tuesday and that most people here thought of his book as the ig bible. If he did get the chance to join us, just to let me or here at the forum know so that we could get our questions ready. He said that he didn't have any time right now, but took the printed pages. The assist publisher was there and we also talk with her about even having Jim come on the kingsnake orgainized chat like Jeff Lemm. Also asked her if Jim had a schedule of where he might be signing books, as others on the forum would probably love to know. She was receptive to both ideas. She said that she could post when and where James signings were going to be as they came up.

After Jim started his lecture, I got pictures of him and one of his female iguanas, Iggy. After everything was over and we were leaving, Jim stopped signing everyone elses book to say goodbye to Walt and I. He also made sure he had our email address. On the way home I was able to read the first 70 pages of the book.
