It might have been. If it helps, he mentioned something about it possibly being the same type that killed cleopatra. It was about 7 or 8 feet long, very dark back (looked black) with no apparant pattern. This snake was big, beautiful, and quite sure of itself.
Might have been shied nose cobra. He was in South Africa at the time, do they occur there? How many other 'something' nose cobras are in that area anyways? Like I said, I'm not a snake person.

:Could it have been a shield nose cobra? Aspedilaps scuttalaatus or something or other. I heard about that...and how stupid he was. Said the boomslang was the most venomest snake in the world or something along those lines. Rather humorous. Too bad I missed it :-D Andy
