for not meaning to come off as confrontational you do a good job at it. remember that this was posted at a humor site at that just what this was a funny story. forgive me if i thought that herpers would see humor in a c-section on a rat.
:Kudos to this young couple for showing a little RESPONSIBILITY towards their pet!
:What would you suggest they do? Should euthanize their pet rat? How much should they spend to save the life of their pet? What if it was their dog/cat/monitor?
:I know that not too many herpers would spend this kind of money on a rat (I know I wouldn't!!!); complications like this might mean the mother rat would be put down and fed off. But people SHOULD show this kind of responsibility towards their pet.
:I have to add this: I am shocked and surprised by your callous comments towards one of your patients. This rat was someone's pet.
:Don't mean to come off confrontational; just reminding you that uncaring attitudes towards our pets from the vet staff is unwelcome.
::working at a 24hr emergency vet you see\hear some really strange things but last night beat them all..a young couple brought in a rat that was have birthing difficulties..they decided to have a c-section done on the rat to try and save her and the babies (this cost over $400) while the procedure was being i couldnt help but think what new reptiles could be bought with $400..
