Good for you. Good for your son. Too bad about your neighbor kid. Such a complicated thing, hatred for the serpent. Embroiled in religion and ignorance, our conquering of nature and all. Heck, we can't stand each other (jews vs arabs US vs Commies you get the idea), surprise that we have love for any other species! We cringe at the idea of feeding a cute little kitten to our beloved snake, but think its fine for a "rattlesnake roundup" (gotta get them dangerous snakes!). To everything there is a season. Remember the history books tell us about the Black Plague? No snakes to blame there!
