::I have 3 P. platyrhinos they were about 30-40 ants each per day until a few weeks ago now they won’t touch them. They would eat crickets and waxworms until last week now they show no interest in any type of food. I have an UV light, heat lamp, which heats part of the tank to 100 F, and desert blend lizard litter for substrate. They spend the day sprawled out not wanting to move to much, but they are burring themselves at night.
::First off, what is "desert blend lizard litter?" It is that time of the year when HLs begin preparation for late summer estivation and winter hibernation. What you are seeing is that preping, hopefully. I say hopefully because of the cricket and waxworms that are in the diet. How much and how oftem have the HLs been getting such items? Just snacks I hope? Lester G. Milroy III

Desert Blend is ground up walnut shells. To answer how many crickets and waxworms they were more than a snack because they wouldn't eat any thing else. How long do they hibernate for? Is there anything special I should do for them while they are hibernating?
