: By the way, I have extensive experience with retiles and amphibians of all types from all around the world. I've been on field collecting trips all around the world and have personally kept thousands of specimens and kept hundreds of species over the years. I've handled 10's of thousands of reptiles and amphibians working with several importers and breeders.
yes and where are all these hundreds of species now??? Dead by any chance. You can't claim to have experience with animals you briefly had under your care. Experience comes with the years.
I've reasonable experience with some types of specialised anoles, but this only because I have been keeping and breeding them for several years.
If one really wants to get into a species you don't have time to care for hundreds of species. It would mean you'd have to change your collection about every half a year. Those people are called collectors not herpetologists. And to be frankly, I dislike such people because they really don't care about the animals they keep.
Oh and I work at an importer at thought to have quite some friends that breed a diversity of reptiles and amphibians but I can't imagine even getting 10's of thousands of these animals through my hands. Furthermore How serious are those so called breeders, I would let nobody else than me handle my animals, and preferable I don't handle them at all.
