About how many ants do the newborn baby HL's normally eat? Should I seperate the babies from the mother?
: : I have 3 trios of desert HL's, but I am having troubles breeding them in captivity. Does anyone know how to cycle them and have any useful breeding information?
: You need to give them a restperiod with reduced lighting and temperatures. Two to three months should be sufficient but I have heard from people hibernating them for 4-5 months without problems.
: After they have awaken nature should do the rest after some 4-6 weeks mating should begin.
: The female lays her eggs in a burrow she digs herself (be prepared to see your beautifull setup being bulldozered by the female) After some 8 weeks the eggs should hatch and than you need to get the young to feed. Keep the young somewhat moisterthan the parents because they dehydrate faster due to their size.
