Sure there is always POTENTIAL, but I don’t consider warm wood to be a fire hazard. To get wood involved in the combustion process, you would need a lot of heat, more than what you could tolerate putting your hand on. The best thing you can do is to throw away heat pads that are cracked or damaged. Those are susceptible to short circuits.
