Thanks for the info ... I've heard people say that they've seen them in Umstead Park but I hike there all the time and have never seen one ... Maybe going a bit east would help.

Harley is doing great - only went off food for a couple of weeks and is very active and healthy! I don't hold him much so he puts on a good show when I do! Thanks for asking!

: I used to live in Raleigh and in all my years of being in the woods and fields I never saw one. I would try maybe going out a little further like Garner or something and trudging through some big fields. My dad lives there and has seen black rats, green snakes, and a few others. He is pretty close to where they are building that new mall off of 40. I would say anywhere outside of town though that isnt being bulldozed and built on at the present time would be a good start.
