After waiting for about 2 years I finally purchased a western hog at the sept. Raleigh show. I was told it was eating live pinkies but not for me. I tried everything I could think of as well as some tips from people on this forum. He started to look really really skinny so I managed to force a pinkie down once. He looked ok for about 2-3 weeks after that, then started to look skinny again. I went to feed him the other morning and he was just laying on his side, still alive, but didnt make it through the day. I had him in a 10 gal. tank with aspen bedding, fresh water and a hide. I also had a small heat lamp for warmth. Part of me feels like I bought a nonfeeding snake and part feels like I have done something wrong. I plan on getting another hog one day but want to make sure this doesnt happen again. I would appreciate any help in making my hog keeeping a successful one. Thanks.
