in Florida and become their apprentice. Have them teach you how to handle and to care for venomous species. I hate to endorse regulation, but as things stand now in many states, any idiot can have almost any species of venomous reptile they desire. Often those people have no clue how to handle or care for those animals. Sometimes those people get bit, bringing scutiny upon everyone who chooses to work with venomous species. Or, more frequently, the animal suffers. If more states required those who kept venomous to actually have the skill and knowledge required to maintain venomous species the hobby of keeping hots would probably be better off.
