but no gila in sight. He was reported seen by a hiker at 4:00pm. I and another staff member looked in the immediate area but no signs :(
The gun is a Raytek Thermo Gun purchased off the Snap On truck. There is cheaper models but they are not that accurate.

: That pretty much sums up all of my questions except maybe one. Did you by chance take a new reading on the gila's body temperature??? It would be interesting to see what the rate of heat loss was from time X(first reading) to time Y(second reading) and the length of time between.
: Sorry to be a bother but I am really facinated by wild observations of these animals and since they don't occur in my neck of the woods(or swamp for that matter-LOL)I have to rely on people like you, Kerry, and others that are lucky enough to observe them in the wild to fill in my blanks.
