:I cooled down my GTP's for a couple months and they were not eating or mating so now there at 70 to 75 degrees and there eating like mad .my female is eating 2 medium size rat every 2 weeks or so ,so shes always pretty fat now , so how do I tell when shes ovulating,or do I just keep putting them together every few days and see what happens ?? thanks .JIM
Jim, keep putting them together. Females will usually stop feeding about a month prior to ovulating. Sometimes it can be hard to tell a female is ovulating, even to an experienced chondro breeder. The ovulation is a large mid-body swelling, usually about twice the normal girth of the snake, that lasts 8-24 hours, and sometimes up to 48 hours. I'll try to find a pic of my female ovulating and get it up here. Good luck.
