how can I tell when my female is ovulating

I cooled down my GTP's for a couple months and they were not eating or mating so now there at 70 to 75 degrees and there eating like mad .my female is eating 2 medium size rat every 2 weeks or so ,so shes always pretty fat now , so how do I tell when shes ovulating,or do I just keep putting them together every few days and see what happens ?? thanks .JIM
