My first suggestion would be to buy another cage. It will make your life much easier along with the lives of the two chondros.
Second.....buy a hook..........even if it's a small hook. Even with the most trustworthy chondros, it can come in handy.
Third.......Get yourself some removable pearches installed.
Chondros are generally solitary animals. The only time to pair them up is for breeding. At this time, males will USUALLY be all over the females.
Even if you have to create a temporary setup for one animal, it will make life much easier for you and them. Good luck.
