I just recently got a yellow anaconda yearling, and i could definitly tell you a few things
1. make sure its captive bred, i got a wild caught one ( not knowingly) and had some problems, had to treat her for parasites and mites
2. get used to getting bit, the young ones are fiesty and you will get bit, i've been bit several times
3. since there isnt alot of info on these snakes due to thier bad reputation find as much as you can, there some decent anaconda page son the net
4. as far as husbandry goes they are real hardy snakes, moderate temps and humidity..will readily feed ( unless its infested like mine was).
it's been a big learning process for me and i'm willing to give any advice i might have on them
hope this helps
James
:::Hey all, Im going to start breeding my red tail boas here soon. But I have given alot of thought and research on anacondas and im looking at geting a sub adult yellow anaconda here soon, but do you all have any tips? Whats the best thing to do if I get bit and it doesnt want to let go? About what size cage would be best for me and the snake? And any advice you could give me would be great. I think im ready for a larger more meaner snake now, I keep 10 snakes (mostly boids) and a 3 foot gator. Well thanks alot guys!
