The world's smallest lizard is a gecko that can sit comfortably on a dime and eats mites. It is the smallest out of all the reptiles, birds, and mammals in the world. Obviously, it would make an impractical pet even if you could get it!
There are a couple gecko, anole, and snake species that can live comfortably in a 10 gallon, and they're probably small enough for any practical purpose.
