well i work at a pet store and the ones we get in are very hard to handle and bite anything the comes into the cage(have scars to prove it) but we also get them in when they are bigger im sure like most animals if gotten young enough they can be tamed up. but as for your friend just take little steps at a time, maybe get a glove or something incase it does bite
