there's always a first time. i can't help but thing of that famous herper who was the first recorded death of a boomslang. he didn't take any precautions against being bitten, or get any treatment, because it had never killed anyone before. this assumption cost him his life.

never assume that an animal won't bite, and even with such a "tame" animal, i'd be doubly wary just because it's a crocodilian.

i know i don't have much authority, since i don't even own one these animals yet, bit i agree that taking it out without jaw tape was HIGHLY irresponsible.
