Do you know what's in it? It's really hard to say, but if it's not hardwood mulch or sand (the only beddings I'd buy at a hardware store), and it's not been tested to see if it's safe in case of ingestion, I wouldn't use it for anything, let alone a ferret. If it's a softwood like pine or cedar the scent it gives off is bad for an animal's respiratory system.
