Looks just like the picture from Audubon Society Field Guid to North American Reptiles and Amphibians. The description also describes the black line that runs from the top of the head between the sixth and seventh lip scales. Divided anal plate. The picture was number 550 in the book. I have the 1979 edition. Eats earthworms, slugs and snails.
