:so i know this forum is dedicated to Thamnophis but i couldn't find any other place where people might be amenable to questions about or even remotely knowledgeable about these guys so i hope you won't mind.
:do any of you have any experience with Storeria?
:several of these guys have come into my care and i was wondering about feeding ideas.
:i have tried earthworms and only one will eat them
:other ideas?
:slugs are hard to get here (arizona) as are terrestrial snails (plus i worry about diseases from gastropods)
:i might be able to get to a souce of "clean" grasshoppers
:or possibly even plethodontids (i have been debating using red-backed salamnaders as a food source) any ideas or experiences to share?

My juve. DeKay's rarely eats whole earthworms; I have to halve them, or cut into a few pieces. I have a great slug spot come warm weather (MA) that yields many-- my snake loves 'em. Also, my snake is a skittish one, how about other's captives? Hard to tame species?
