How many times did she spit it out and try again? I would remove it after a few tries. It just sounds exhausting. I've seen mine spit something out to reposistion it, but then has no problem eating it the second time around. Perhaps if there were other fish in the bowl she'd be more willing to give up on that one and go for another?

Oh, and I'm sure you know to switch her to some other type of fish eventually, right?

Good luck with her!

Tami

:I have just gotten my garter snake to eat ( finally) I gave her one small goldfish and she ate it with no problem. The second one I gave her seemed to be about the same size as the first but she seems to be having trouble eating. She gets it about 1/4 of the way in then spits it back out again. Should I take it out?
