No Eggs :-(

I'm afraid that with the frost we had a couple weeks ago that I will have NO tadpoles this year - a HUGE let down for me since this is the time of year that I love most. And this is the one year for a long time that we actually have had rain in abundance. All the eggs that were laid about 3 weeks ago didn't hatch. Well, maybe some did but I've looked for tads and have only seen one, which reminds me- Has anyone ever seen those big NASTY looking water bugs that look like giant fleas? Are those the things they call water fleas and do they kill tadpoles? I've got lots of those this year. Also is there some sort of way of luring toad back to my pond? Its gotten warmer out the past two days and I've seen no activity. :-( -Laurah
