:Heck, throw in 5, 3 the next, 1 or two the next week at different day intervals... etc. Just like in the wild, and in the commercial... You never know what your going to get.
:Also, add some variety... Try earthworms as treats. My firebellied toads and newt LOVE them. Aswell with try waxworms(treat), and your occasional outdoor bugs. (Where no pesticides are)I'll take like an a hairless caterpillar, from the ground and give it to a firebellied toad. Be creative with your toads diet.
Well the thing is, I hand-feed my toads. The crickets usually get in water and die right away and even if they don't the toads have the risk of eating bits of moss with their meal. And also because of the size difference the bigger toads will keep the smaller one from getting anything. With that in mind, does feeding a cricket a day a good plan, and then some days I give them different stuff like worms etcetera etcetera.
