I forgot to charge my dig cam...sorry,however; i dont mean to create a stir, what I saw had golden flecks bilaterally on tail.

After comparing photos at USGS WERC site I am concluded by the head shape, coloring, and leg length it was Batrachoseps nigriventris.

Batrachoseps pacificus major head is much larger..so are the legs.

Sorry for the vagueness!
