...one tub with 1.3 in it should get you about 40 young rats a month, and you would need one or two other tubs for growing out. This size (a growout tub in my classroom) is $8 each at WalMart, and you should be able to get the four rats for $12 or so. For a small investment, you would have fresh killed rats for your snakes every week, and you really should have enough left over with 1.3 to freeze some for times when an unexpected problem occurs. One week a month, feed them the F/T ones and replace with fresh killed, and you'll never have freezer burn again.
