Help with rat cage and with crickets>>>

I just finished my rat cages of sterilite container covered with hardware cloth with wood frame. Is it possible that the rats could push the top off?, do you also make some type of lock or something?. I have been trying to breed the crickets but keep getting mold, this is how i have it set up. two salad containers filled with moist vermiculite and then covered with original top, I then place in a foam fish box that some make incubators out of with heat pad in the foam box.
