roaches for at least 8 months. Any insect, or mammal for that matter, that can digest fiber has some amount of bacteria in their digestive system. This can actually benefit reptiles in that the bacteria are also a valuable source of protein in the diet. I would imagine, as you said, that mealworms and crix must both have some bacterial flora in order to digest the fiber they consume...
