What else do you have in the room? Keep in mind that even large snakes can fit into small spaces(My 7' redtail never ceases to amaze me with her ability to coil up in a 12 pack soda box). Begin with the perimeter, leaving no space unexplored. Look down--many times snakes like to stretch out along base boards. Also, look up--ceiling fans, shelf units/book cases and curtain rods are prime snake hang-outs. Under furniture cushions, inside of recliners, snuggled up to anything warm. . .you get the idea. In the rest of the house, if your dogs act strange--watching a certain area, whining to get into a basement, etc.--they may help you to find him. Family members need to be on alert, and conscious of places he might go. Good luck with your search. Post if you find him.
