African rock escape

Help, my african rock escaped last night. He's about 5' not aggressive but I do have children, youngest is 8 and two dogs(great danes,1-18months and the other 6 months) both are big.Can't see were he got to the room is closed off except for the heater. But can't see how he could have gotten in thier. All vents are closed off, the only way out is the way he got in. I think. Any ideas anyone?
