:Aaron,
There are a variety of jobs for herpetological minded persons.
One is working for your state Wildlife commission. All 50 states have herpetologists on staff.
Many colleges and universities have herp courses that are taught by very well known herpetologists.
Most zoos have herp displays and the larger ones employ herpetologists.
All reptile publications employ herpetologists.
The U.S. fish and Wildlife employs many herpetologists.
Network television employs herpetologists as hosts but many more for research.
There are also international groups that hire herpetologists for conservation projects.
In the course of study, you may want to extensively study biology. This will allow you to work in ANY school, zoo, college, university, state, federal,or international conservation commission.
Good luck,
Bart
