Toads eat a lot.
Crickets, worms, grubs, etc.
I watched a wild one hunt roaches for a half hour once. It ate about 5 LARGE roaches before it wandered off. It was still hungry.
EAsy to hibernate them. Keep by a window in Fall and turn off heat. They need lots of hiding places and very little handling.
Check a library for more, or online.
