Snakes in a classroom? hlep?

I'm a fourth grade teacher looking for a snake to put in my room. I know that corn snakes are the best for starting out. But my questions are: What are their temperment? Will they bit often? What type of teeth do they have? Are they safe for children to touch, Not hold? Thankyou to anyone who can help.
