I'm a student intern at a zoo, and my project is to obtain an Eastern Indigo Snake for educational programs at the zoo. Is anyone else using these animals in educational programs? Do you take them out to schools all winter long? I'm in The South, but it still gets pretty cold here. I was planning on tying the snake in a pillow case, and then transporting in a flip-top cooler with a warm (not too hot) hot water bottle, or maybe a pre-warmed heating pad. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
