I am a docent (volunteer educator) at a small (but wonderful) zoo. At the end of July, I will be teaching an amphibian workshop for kids 7 years or older. This will be a 2 hour workshop and then I will be teaching a shortened version to adults (the other docents) as well.
I do know a bit about amphibians, but would welcome any ideas that might help. I am looking for sites to get information or fun things for the kids to do. I also need to make or buy something fun and froggy (and relatively cheap) for the kids to eat as a snack.
I am trying to collect local amphibians for the workshop (going to release them afterwards). I have also arranged to borrow some amphibian pets. A pet store is going to let me borrow two African Clawed Frogs, one albino and one regular, to show how albinism works in amphibs.
Any other suggestions would be very helpful, either email me or just post a reply.
Thank you ahead of time!
Jenn
