The tank will stay warmer if you cover the top of the tank. When I had my 55 gallon tank I made a lid out of wood, with holes cut for the lights and a vent. If you mean you are afraid to turn the powersun off at night, don't be they need the temps to drop down at night. Room temp is usually fine unless you like to be really cold at night.
