As the previous post stated, all reptiles are technically illegal in Dallas county. However, Animal Control and law enforcement only get involved if there is a specific complaint about your reptile(s). You would actually be surprised by the number of animals that are illegal to own here in DFW, however, a *great* majority of law enforcement officers know next to nothing about which animals are regulated here, so I really don't think you will have a problem, permit or not.
