I live in Richardson and I called animal control last week about keeping a wild caught Tx rat snake. The city has no regulations about it, but they recommended calling Tx Parks and Wildlife. They said I need a permit that they issue for $18.
Don't have the phone number handy right now, but I found it in the gov't section of the white pages.
: hey guys, im new to the forum. my name is sony, and ive kept reptiles all my life. but have a question for yall. how in the world do u get a permit to keep snakes, in particular-pythons in dallas county. ive heard some ppl say that you can get one, and animal control say u cant get a permit. just thought id ask here. i keep green tree pythons. from what i understand, dallas county has a "blanket" law that prohibits the keeping of these animals(pythons). im not going to get rid of them no matter what, but would like to get a permit, if possible. thanks in advance.
