I just found a location in Central Grand Prairie with a fair number of Ambystoma texanum!
I haven't found any of these from this area in about 17 years. It was a nice surprise.
Unfortunately this relic population may only be around for about another year (maybe 2?). The entire area is scheduled for construction and the ground was bulldozed, scraped, and flattened about 200 yards away.
Keep your eyes open! It's never to early to herp!
