I live in the Hill Country outside Dripping Springs. I have a 3 to 4 foot black snake, with a white/light colored underside, living in a hole in the ground under an oak tree in my front yard. It has some type of pattern on its back, but I did not see a rattle on its tail. I have only had a few brief views of it. My two labs are definitely wary when they sniff the hole. Can anyone help identify? How do I get rid of it without having to kill it?
