Captive Bred Crotalus?

I am inquiring into what appears to be a lack of captive crotalus breeding in the U.S.. It is my understanding that the Europeans are ahead of the game in this area. By no means am I an authority on this. I was curious as to why this is true ? If, indeed this is true. Thanks J Blume
