I don't tell my husband how many snakes I have.....each time he see's a snake he doesn't recognise I give him the "Stupid man" look and inform him this is the Hypo-butter-corn-ball-amel-whatever-confusing-combination-I-can-work-up-on-the-spot-snake I bought last year......"What.......don't you remember this one? Don't you pay any attention to my hobbies?"
Luckily for me my husband has been an avid collector of swords and armour for years......and if he wants me to turn a blind eye to the new sword he is trying to convince me is the hibben-pakistani-signed-unlimited-addition-replica(WHAT-EVER!) he bought last year.....then he has to pretend to suddenly recognise my 4 new neonate ball pythons as the 3 corn snakes I purchased last winter!
