Domestication is a process that man has dealt with since we figured out we could use animals for our own intentions.

Peas, carrots, dogs, horses, goldfish, etc....etc......

Your idea of purity is just fine, but corns are on their way to being one of the most domesticated snakes known to man. With such a wide spread base of owners there will be just as many opinions. Just don't try to hold your ideas on how things should go too dear, you will probably be very disappointed.
