Slinky always hides during the day and comes out only for a little while at night. All the sudden he is out all day just laying there looking around. Is this because it is spring and mateing season? Or could their be another reason for this behavior?

He is 3 feet long...is it okay to feed him adult mice now. I fed him one last week but...it took him a good bit of time to get it down. I was worried he wouldn't be able to but he did finally. And he pooed fine-alot but normal.
