you maybe answered your own question...

alot of times they get so fat that the scales bend up when they curl up....

fat snakes are bad....go on a diet...LOL...

(I used to feed mice...1 or even 2 or 3 to a corn a week...now I use maybe 1 hopper or 2 fuzzy a week for an adult corn(here they average 3 foot...not 5...5 foot corns here got a nice mouse a week...not a huge one...)....
