Been lurking in this forum for a couple of weeks now, and have learned to respect the information provided by a number of members recently.
I have just finished building a rack system for my corns and I am looking for opinions on the size of flexwatt heat tape to use. Each shelf is 24" wide, 17.5" deep, and 6.25" high. There are 6 shelves total. There will be pegboard for the backs when I figure out the best width of flexwatt. Each shelf will be holding either two 15 qt. sterilite or 1 32 qt sterilite. I have researched using the flexwatt on the back of the rack instead of on the shelves themselves, and am looking to do that with this system.
The question is, would 11 inch flexwatt be necessary? Would 4 inch flexwatt get the job done? (two strips down the back?) I'm just getting the feeling that 11 in is overkill for a closed in rack system.
Opinions?
