Had a SIMILAR thing happen to my deremensis. Look inside the lips, is there any foreign matter, swelling. The Vet's perscribed Silver sulfadide cream, and Baytril. I skipped the last few doses of Baytril, and it abcesses...ANOTHER $150 for the lancing, culture, tests, and MORE baytril...
If you CANNOT take it to a vet, at least pt some of the S.S. cream around the swollen part, it won't hurt. MAke sure you clean it out really good. Can't help with the anitbiotics...
Not going there, as a vet would say, I have to see the animal. I could be a vitamin/ mineral problem, MBD etc. If they BOTH have it, that would almost seem likely. At least make sure the area stays clean, the S.S. stuff has worked very well for me.
