Veiled Chameleon question

I have a veiled chameleon that is about 5 1/2 inches and is about three monthes old,I was just sitting in my room watching him under his basking area . he moved a little bit then opened his mouth a little bit and went meow It sounded just like a cat. why did he do this and is it good or bad?
